Kate Dawes' work is mixed media – a hybrid of art and photography, combining artistic skills and photo imagery. The images emphasise the natural beauty and structures of botanicals to create bold graphic art. Each piece starts on watercolour paper and is built up using a wide range of mediums from watercolours, acrylics, pencil crayons & pen. Kate's work is about ‘bringing the outside in’ and draws inspiration from English country gardens. There is something meditative in her art. Its aim is to draw people in, to get them to look deeply and take their mind away from the everyday.
