Mary Macdonald has been exhibiting and selling her work at festivals and fairs since 2013. A textile artist, she creates bespoke clothing and accessories through Nuno Felting, utilizing merino wool hand-dyed silk and incorporating a variety of textures to produce unique pieces. Blending vibrant colours with different textures is what inspires her; wool's unpredictability through shrinkage and movement adds an element of surprise to each piece. The properties of merino wool—warmth, temperature regulation, windproofness, shower resistance, hard wear, and sustainability—motivated Mary to integrate felting art into clothing. When asked where one would wear such pieces, her answer is Sainsbury’s.
