Pete Singer Darley Dale Pottery

About the Artist

Pete Singer has exhibited successfully at Bonsall in both 2023 and 2024. His work is deeply rooted in functionality and beauty. Each pot is crafted to be used, from teapots and large platters to sushi plates and garden planters. For Pete, a pot is not complete until it fulfills its purpose—whether filled with food or plants, enjoyed at the table or in the garden. His earthenware pots are dipped in a white slip and then adorned with oxides and underglazes using a variety of tools, including old and new brushes, fingers, grasses, and twigs. This approach creates unique and interesting marks on the slipped background. In contrast, his stoneware pieces tend to be more subdued in color and texture, allowing the clay's natural qualities to shine through with greens, creams, and blues used for glazing.
